ABOUT

Damien Stanton is a London-based Set & Costume Designer working across stage, events, and installations.

Known for his bold visual storytelling and immersive approach to space, Damien has collaborated with leading names in theatre, opera, and live experience. His work spans traditional stage productions to site-specific installations, with a focus on creating rich, captivating environments that connect with audiences.

Recent theatre design credits include The Acts (Barbican), Machinal (Mountview), Jamie Allan’s Amaze (Criterion Theatre & Off-Broadway debut), Wonderland in Alice (Octagon Theatre), Hamstrung (Omnibus & Pleasance), and Brainiac Live (Marylebone Theatre), which won the 2025 Olivier Award for Best Family Show. His international work includes Brainiac Live (Dubai Opera House) and The Yellow Wallpaper (Sadler’s Wells & Czech National Theatre, Associate Designer).

Alongside his theatre practice, Damien has developed large-scale public installations and immersive experiences for organisations such as Transport for London, the London Transport Museum, and Blenheim Palace. Projects include the Spectrum Roundel Installation, the Poster Chandelier, and Paddington™ LoComotion — each designed to transform public spaces through storytelling-led design.

In addition to his spatial design work, Damien continues to produce graphic artwork for live entertainment, with his designs appearing in over 100 West End, Broadway, and international productions. These include Hamilton, Phantom of the Opera, Back to the Future, & Juliet, Mary Poppins, and Stranger Things: The First Shadow.

In 2020, Damien co-founded Theatre Support Fund+, raising over £1 million for industry workers during the pandemic through The Show Must Go On! campaign. This work earned him The Stage Award for Innovation in Theatre and a place on The Stage 100 list of the most influential people in British theatre.

A Mountview graduate with a BA Hons in Theatre Production Design, Damien is proud to identify as Neurodivergent and Queer. He is passionate about championing the work of artists living with Neurological Disabilities and advocating for greater visibility within the creative industries.
