White Rose

Cockpit Theatre

During World War II Russia was the only country to allow female fighter pilots to engage in battle. White Rose tells the true story of 'Double Ace' Lily Litvak, the first woman to shoot down another plane, and the battles she had on the ground to win the respect of the men in command.

White Rose originally premiered at

Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre in 1985 starring Ken Stott and Tilda Swinton.
